The terms and conditions detailed below apply to all online bookings made at www.theangushotel.com. When you make a booking, your contract (which shall include these terms and conditions) will be with A.F. Scott & Company (Hoteliers) Limited, 46 Wellmeadow, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, PH10 6NH (referred to in these terms and conditions as “Angus Hotel”).All rates featured on the Angus Hotel website (www.theangushotel.com) are offered subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse any booking for good reason.
Product and Pricing:
The Angus Hotel offers a choice of ‘Room Only’. ‘Bed & Breakfast’ or ‘Dinner, Bed & Breakfast’ rates plus a full range of promotional and seasonal packages, which are detailed below. All prices are subject to availability and the Angus Hotel reserves the right to refuse any booking for any reason.
All prices shown online are in £s per room per night (unless otherwise stated) based on 1 or 2 people sharing a twin or double room for one or more consecutive night stays, except for certain holiday periods or promotional rates where a minimum 2, 3, 4 or 5 night stay may apply. These rates apply to pre-booked stays only. Our packages and pricing will fluctuate depending on availability and demand at any given time.
Prices are subject to change without notice. However, your price is guaranteed once you are given a confirmation number. For the avoidance of doubt, your price does not include any incidental charges, which you may incur during your stay (including, by way of example only, the costs of external telephone calls from your room). Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with Angus Hotel that you irrevocably authorise us to debit your credit or debit card (see Deposits and Pre-Payments below) for the amount of any shortfall.
Prices are subject to availability and are inclusive of VAT at the current prevailing rate. If VAT is increased or decreased by the date of your stay, any increase or decrease will be charged or refunded to your account as appropriate, otherwise your price is guaranteed once you have been given a confirmation number.
Advance Purchase Rates
In general, our Advance Purchase Rates are available 4 weeks / 28 days or more before the date of arrival, and are fully prepaid at the time of booking. Advance Purchase Rates are non refundable and non transferable. The credit/debit card used to book the Advance Purchase rate must be presented to reception on arrival at the hotel. Please note that failure to do so will result in an alternative payment method being required.
Best Available Rates
In general, our Best Available Rates are available until the day of arrival. These rates allow you to alter or cancel your booking without charge until 2pm, 3 days prior to your date of arrival. Cancellations received* within this cancellation time frame will be fully refunded, those made after our cancellation deadline will be charged the cost of the first night of your stay. (* cancellations must be made by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. . See ‘Cancellations & Amendments’ below for further information)
Promotion & Partnership Rates + Special Event Dates:
These rates will require a promotion code, and are subject to the same cancellation and amendment conditions as our ‘Advance Purchase Rates’. For ‘Event Dates’ such as Christmas, New Year and Easter a non-refundable/non-transferable deposit of £100.00 per person will be charged at the time of booking with the balance being charged in full 4 weeks/28 days prior to arrival.
For the avoidance of doubt, in all instances your rate/price does not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay (including, by way of example only, in respect of your use of the hotel’s bar and mini-bar facilities and the cost of external telephone calls from your room).
Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with the Angus Hotel that you irrevocably authorise the Angus Hotel to debit your credit or debit card (see ‘Deposits & Pre-payments’ below) for the amount of any shortfall.
Availability of all rooms at the rates shown online may be limited and/or restricted to certain periods. During major sporting events, social events, conferences and exhibitions the same rates may not be available.
What the Price Includes:
Prices for breaks include twin or double bedrooms (single room for single guests where specified) with colour TV. Direct dial telephone and private en-suite bath or shower-room.
Superior may be available at a supplement per night. Generally these rooms offer either more space and a selection of superior amenities and toiletries. Family Rooms may be available. Please ask for details at the time of booking.
Family Rooms & Children
Children under the age of twelve can stay on a bed and breakfast basis free of charge when sharing a room with two paying adults where a suitable room is available. Children aged 12 and over are charged at 50% of the adult bed & breakfast rate when sharing with two adults*. Availability of suitable rooms is limited and portable beds may need to be used where such accommodation is sought. The hotel concerned will determine whether a room is suitable for the purpose of this offer. Children staying in their own room will be charged 100% of the full adult rate paid by the accompanying adults. N.B. All children’s lunches and dinners will be charged as taken.
* when children are staying with only one adult in the room the first child will be charged for as an adult.
Individual guests using a single room (where available) may benefit from a reduced rate (normally half the double/twin room rate), as shown online. When no single room is available, individual guests may book a double or twin room and pay a single occupancy supplement.
At certain times, the supplement may be equivalent to the rate charged for a second person’s stay.
Guests with Impaired Mobility:
A number of our rooms offer modified facilities for guests with impaired mobility. Others, whilst not having special facilities, have mainly level access to public areas and accessible bathrooms. Guests with impaired mobility or other particular requirements should check in advance that their requirements can be met.

Dogs & Other Pets:
Our hotels welcome dogs and other pets at a cost of £12.00 per animal per night. Pets left unattended in rooms must be kept in a cage. Pets are not allowed in the general public areas where we serve food, although a designated area is available.
Whilst every effort is made to fulfil any particular requests which you may make in relation to your stay with us, please note that these requests do not form part of our contract and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests.
Arrival at and Departure from the Angus Hotel:
Car Parking: Hotel car parking is available at no additional charge and is on a first come first served basis. We have a secure car park for coaches, bikes and motorbikes if required, subject to availability. For further information on parking availability please call the hotel directly 01250 872 455.
Checking In and Out: Hotel rooms are available from 14.00 hrs (16:00 at Morar Hotel) on the day of arrival. Early check-in is available from 11am at a cost of £15 per room.
All rooms must be vacated by 11 noon on the day of departure, unless you are on a Show Night break (12 noon check-out on a Sunday) or have paid for a late check-out (check-out by 14:00 / 2.00 pm) at a cost of £15 per room.
Deposits and Pre-Payments:
A deposit or a pre payment may be required and, where required, will be taken at the time of booking, in accordance with the provisions applying to the product and rate selected by you. In any event, you are required to guarantee your booking with a valid credit or debit card at the time of booking.
Balance of Monies Outstanding:
Prior to your departure from the hotel you will be required to settle your bill. On arrival you will be asked to produce a valid debit or credit card for the hotel to take a swipe/imprint. If you are settling your account in cash, you will be asked for payment in advance to cover the cost of your room for your stay (any extras which you may incur in the hotel will not be chargeable to your room account). Angus Hotel accepts all major credit cards, including MasterCard, Visa but NOT American Express.
Prior to your departure from the hotel you will be required to settle your bill. Payment (where no deposit or prepayment is required or otherwise of any balance due) will be taken upon departure. In the event of cancellation, payment will be taken in accordance with our cancellation terms. See Cancellations and Amendments below for details.
Cancellations and Amendments:
All cancellations must be made in accordance with our cancellation terms.
General Cancellation Policy: Most of the rates featured on our website may be cancelled without charge as long as they are cancelled at least 72 hours prior to the earliest check-in time of 14:00 (2.00pm) on the scheduled day of arrival at the hotel. However, cancellation terms may vary according to the type of rate which you have booked. Where a cancellation is not made in accordance with our applicable cancellation terms, we reserve the right to charge you for the first night’s accommodation. A cancellation number must be obtained to ensure that such charges will not be levied.
A valid credit card is required to guarantee your reservation. Credit cards will only be debited if one or more of the following conditions occur:-
Advance Purchase Rates Cancellation:
If you book an advance purchase Show Night Weekend Break or any other advance purchase rate you will be charged the full cost of the stay at the time of booking. Advance Purchase Rates and payments are non-refundable although they may be transferred at the discretion of the hotel manager, subject to a £10.00 per person administration charge.
Special Promotional Rates Cancellation:
As our promotional rates offer great value for money these rates are fully pre payable at time of booking and are non-refundable refundable although they may be transferred at the discretion of the hotel manager, subject to a £10.00 per person administration charge.
Special Events/Dates Rates:
For ‘Event Dates’ such as Christmas, New Year and Easter a non-refundable/non-transferrable deposit of £100.00 per person will be charged at the time of booking with the balance being charged in full 4 weeks/28 days prior to arrival.
In the unlikely event that we have to change or cancel your reservation, we reserve the right to do so. However, you have the right to:
- accept the changed arrangements as notified; or
- make alternative arrangements with the hotel; or
- cancel your reservation and receive a full refund of any monies which you have paid to the Angus Hotel in respect of your reservation (please note that we shall not be liable for any sums which you have paid to any other persons in connection with your reservation).
For the avoidance of doubt, we shall have no further liability to you for any changes to or the cancellation of any online booking.
Rates which include breakfast offer a hot & cold buffet breakfast with tea or coffee, unless stated otherwise. Rates which include dinner offer a choice from the hotel’s three-course ‘Inclusive Menu’, alternatively, you may chose to dine from our ‘à la carte’ menu with an allocation of £17.50 when on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. N.B. there is no refund for meals which are not taken by guests and lunch cannot be taken in place of dinner etc.
Other Hotel Services:
- Dinner reservations, beauty/massage treatments, and golf tee off times cannot be guaranteed online. If your booking includes dinner reservations, , please contact the hotel directly to reserve a time for dinner. Please note that the price being offered currently cannot be guaranteed should you not complete your booking at this stage.
- The Angus Hotel Leisure Club has leisure and spa facilities including a swimming pool, sauna and spa pool. The hotel also has ‘Vital Health and Beauty’ offering spa treatments at additional cost. Pre booking is essential and is available by telephoning 01250 872 455. Your use of leisure facilities is subject to the Angus Hotel Leisure Club Terms & Conditions
- Angus Hotel Gift Vouchers are available to buy online or over the phone. If you wish to use a gift voucher towards the cost of your stay, this should be mentioned at the time of booking and should be presented on check-in.
Complaints or Comments:
Any complaint or comment regarding a stay at one of our hotels should be made in the first instance to the hotel’s duty manager at the time of your stay so that it can be resolved at the time. If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction you should then write to our Group Operations Manager at Scott Hotels, 46 Wellmeadow, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, PH10 6NH, who will aim to acknowledge your complaint within 7 working days.

Please note that due to the nature of some of our products, not all of them are available to book online.
Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained on our website, we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions, and reserve the right to vary, amend, supplement or cancel any of the information or offers featured at any time.
All details are correct at time of going to print, however may be subject to change from time to time.
Scott Hotels shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising out of events beyond its control or the control of its suppliers (including, without limitation, fire, failure of electrical, gas or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, technical problems with transport, illness of entertainers and bad weather), nor for any curtailment, cancellation or change to any accommodation, activity or itinerary or any other consequences which arise as a result of such events.
For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these terms and conditions shall operate to attempt to exclude or limit the Company’s liability for the death or personal injury of any person caused by the negligence of the Company or its employees, servants or agents or to attempt to exclude or limit the Company’s liability in any manner which would be unlawful.
These terms and conditions shall be subject to Scottish Law.
